When the Parksville Community Centre Society reached out to Websites Made With Love, they needed more than just a website, they needed an identity.

With no previous site to build from, we partnered closely with their team to develop a fresh online presence from the ground up that reflects the Centre’s vital role in the Parksville community and supports everything from events and room bookings to volunteer engagement.

The Challenge

No Existing Website
This was a full ground-up build. The Centre had no previous site, so there was no structure, content management system, or visuals to repurpose. We needed to create everything: design, messaging, user flow, accessibility, and layout, while staying true to the character of the Centre and its community-focused mission.

Balancing Information with Simplicity
The Centre serves multiple audiences, event organizers, community members, volunteers, and donors, so the site needed to present a wide range of information in a clean, intuitive way.

Accessibility & Practical Usability
The new site needed to be friendly for users of all ages and abilities, including screen reader compatibility. Particular care was taken to simplify forms, avoid unnecessary pop-ups, and ensure the entire site worked seamlessly on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

The Solution

Websites Made With Love designed and launched parksvillecentre.ca as a welcoming, community-first website that blends clarity, warmth, and function:

  • completely custom-built WordPress site from the ground up
  • strong visual identity rooted in local photography, community spaces, and events
  • reorganized and simplified page layout across Rooms, About, Events, Membership, and Volunteer pages
  • accessible booking forms and screen-reader-friendly fields
  • easy-to-update structure for the PCC team to manage upcoming photos, board member updates, and new partnerships
  • footer structure ready to support CRA/Society numbers and improved map interactivity
